Dr. Ambrose O. Jagongo is the chairman for the Curriculum Development and Review committee at the School of Business, Economics and Tourism at Kenyatta University. He is the immediate former Chair for the department of Accounting and Finance, and has previously served as Chairman, Postgraduate Studies Board and Coordinator of Quality Assurance in the School of Business, KU. He is a Staff Mentor in the University Staff- to- Student Mentoring Program and a former Head of Teaching Programs and Publication Section in the Academic Division. Previously, he also served as Coordinator of KU - KIST Collaboration Learning Center and as Assistant Registrar at the Examination section-KU.

Dr. Jagongo is a holder of a PhD in Entrepreneurship Finance, MBA (Finance) and BA (Business Studies and Economics) all from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya. He is a full member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and a member of the American Association of International Researchers (AAIR), a member of the Editorial Board for World Journal of Social Sciences (ISSN 1838-1184) and holds a Certificate in Corporate Governance from the Cooperative University of Kenya.

Dr. Jagongo is known for his prowess in Entrepreneurship Finance and has over 20 years teaching and supervision of MSc (Finance), MBA and PhD students at KU and other universities. In addition he has served as external examiner for the University of Kwasulu Natal, University of Nairobi, JKUAT, Kirinyaga University, Technical University of Kenya, Kenya Methodist University, St. Paul’s University and Mount Kenya University. 

He participated a co-investigator in a successful Multi-Institutional Collaborative Consortium Research Grant awarded by National Research Fund for the project titled Optimizing parameters for the proper use of face masks to reduce severity of underlying infections for enhanced tolerance to COVID 19 and as the Principal negotiator for a Development Grant for the establishment of KU Coffee House and Bakery, from Agriculture and Food Authority - Coffee Directorate.

He participated as the Principal Investigator (PI) on the British Council Funded Research Grant titled, Innovation for African Universities (Youth Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program), jointly implemented by the University of Northumbria, Kenyatta University, Technical University of Kenya and Entrepreneurship Educators Foundation for Eastern Africa. Additionally he participated as a Conference Chairman for the 1st and 2nd  International Business Research and Industrial Conference (IBRIC 2019 &2020)
